Overview

When You Need Cardiovascular Conditioning

Cardiovascular conditioning is needed when your aerobic base is limiting performance or recovery. If you get winded sooner than you expect on the slopes, fall behind on group runs, or feel your endurance has dropped significantly after time off, a structured program will rebuild it. It is also a core component of WCB active rehab for workers who need cardiovascular endurance for their job.

Signs You Should Come In

  • ✔ Aerobic endurance is limiting sport or daily activity performance
  • ✔ Rebuilding cardiovascular fitness after injury, illness, or surgery
  • ✔ Training for a running, cycling, or ski fitness goal
  • ✔ WCB or active rehabilitation requiring cardiovascular component
  • ✔ Want to improve recovery between hard efforts

How It Works

Our Cardiovascular Conditioning Process

We assess your current aerobic capacity and match your program to your starting point and goal. Programs include interval training, steady-state work, and sport-specific aerobic demands. We build progressively — adding volume and intensity as your capacity grows. For patients with injury history, exercise selection protects vulnerable joints while still achieving aerobic goals.

Questions

Frequently Asked Questions

I am not a runner — can I still do cardiovascular conditioning?

Absolutely. Cardiovascular conditioning includes cycling, rowing, swimming, walking programs, and low-impact options that build heart-health fitness without running.

We work within medical clearance from your physician. For cardiac patients, we design programs at appropriate intensity levels and monitor closely. Physiotherapy oversight is included when needed.

Most clients aim for 3 to 4 sessions per week. We design your program to fit your schedule and current capacity, then progress systematically.

Kinesiology sessions are covered by most extended health plans. Call to confirm your specific benefits.
