Supporting You Through Every Trimester

Pregnancy and recovery shouldn’t mean putting up with back pain, pelvic pressure, or a core that doesn’t feel like yours. You shouldn’t have to wait six months for your body to “figure it out.” Our Calgary perinatal-trained physiotherapists treat moms through every trimester and every stage of recovery — with hands-on care, real exercises, and a plan that fits your life. Bring the baby if you need to.

“Alberta family doctors don’t routinely offer the 6-week postpartum physio check-up that’s standard in countries like France. Many Calgary moms walk around with untreated issues for years — they don’t have to.”

Signs You Need Prenatal or Postpartum Physiotherapy

Warning signs show up in every stage. These aren’t things you have to live with — and they don’t magically resolve on their own. The earlier we start, the faster and more complete your recovery.

Pregnancy Back & Pelvic Pain

Low back pain that wakes you at night, pelvic pain when rolling over in bed, sciatica shooting down one leg, pubic bone pain when climbing stairs, or rib pain from the baby pressing up. All treatable — even in the third trimester.

Clinical Assessment Recommended

Postpartum Core Issues

A belly that still looks pregnant months later, a core that doesn’t feel like it’s connecting, leaking when you cough, or heaviness in the pelvis. Signs of a pelvic floor or diastasis that needs care — not time.

Neurological Screen Required

Return-to-Activity Fears

Scared to run again? Worried about lifting? Not sure if your body is ready for F45 or the Bow River pathway? We test before we load and clear you through objective milestones — not guesswork.

Soft Tissue Evaluation

Your Prenatal & Postpartum Recovery Path

Care is tailored to where you are — whether that’s the first trimester, six weeks after delivery, or two years postpartum. Every mom’s timeline is different, and we test before we progress.

01

Assessment

A 60-minute visit covering your full history, physical assessment, and a clear written plan. First prenatal visits can start at any trimester. Postpartum visits are welcome from 6 weeks onward.
02

Hands-On Care & Exercise

Hands-on pain relief, safe trimester-appropriate exercise, pelvic floor treatment, and deep core activation. Every exercise is modified for your stage and goals. Babies are welcome — bring everything you need.
03

Return to Movement

Progressive return to strength, running, and sport after baby. We test your core, pelvic floor, and body load tolerance at each stage before advancing. From stroller walks to running to F45.

Calgary's Young Family Communities

Calgary has one of the largest populations of young families in Canada. Tuscany, Auburn Bay, Mahogany, Royal Oak, Citadel, Panorama Hills, Evanston, and Airdrie are full of moms in the thick of pregnancy or recovery. Calgary’s active outdoor culture makes returning to movement a priority. Moms want to hike, run, ski, lift, and chase their kids — not just “be okay.” Our return-to-sport programs are built around real Calgary life: Bow River pathway runs, stroller walks in Nose Hill Park, and F45 in Tuscany.
