Return-to-Sport Programming in Calgary, AB — Get Back at Full Capacity
Returning to your sport too soon after injury is the most common cause of re-injury. At One Physio & Mobility Clinic, return-to-sport programming gives Calgary athletes a structured, tested path back to hockey, skiing, running, or any other sport — so you go back at full capacity, not at partial fitness and crossed fingers.

Overview
When You Need Return-to-Sport Programming
If you have had a sports injury and want to return to play, return-to-sport programming replaces guesswork with a tested process. ACL repairs, rotator cuff injuries, ankle sprains, and concussions all require sport-specific testing before full return. Calgary’s hockey leagues, ski seasons at Sunshine and Norquay, and the trail running community on Nose Hill mean athletes here are eager to get back. Being ready is what keeps you there long term.
Signs You Should Come In
- ✔ Recovering from an ACL, shoulder, or ankle injury
- ✔ Want to return to hockey, skiing, or running safely
- ✔ Your doctor or surgeon has cleared you for sport-specific rehab
- ✔ Previous injury that re-occurred on too-early return
- ✔ Want objective testing before returning to contact sport
How It Works
Our Return-to-Sport Programming Process
We test your strength, power, neuromuscular control, and sport-specific movement patterns. Testing includes single-leg strength assessments, jump-landing mechanics, and sport-relevant drills. You progress through stages — basic movement, sport-specific skills, full-contact or full-pace activity — and are cleared at each stage before moving on. Our physiotherapist and kinesiologist work together to cover both the clinical and conditioning sides of your recovery.

Questions
Frequently Asked Questions
When am I ready to return to my sport?
When you pass objective testing — not just when you feel ready. We use hop tests, strength ratios, and sport-specific movement tests to confirm readiness and reduce re-injury risk.
What sports do you program for?
We program for hockey, skiing, running, rugby, soccer, basketball, climbing, and recreational sport. We design the drills around the actual demands of your sport.
Can this be done after surgery?
Yes. Return-to-sport programming is the final phase of post-surgical rehabilitation. We coordinate it with your surgeon’s protocol and your rehabilitation timeline.
Is it covered by extended health?
Yes. Return-to-sport programming within a physiotherapy or kinesiology session is covered by most extended health plans. We direct bill.
