Overview
When You Need Strength & Conditioning Training
Strength and conditioning is appropriate when you want to build physical capacity beyond basic rehabilitation. This includes athletes returning to full training after injury, active Calgarians who want to ski harder, lift heavier, or run farther, and patients who have completed their clinical rehab and need to build strength before going back to demanding physical work. It is also an effective approach to long-term weight management.
Signs You Should Come In
- ✔ Returning to sport or physical work after injury rehab
- ✔ Want to improve performance in hockey, skiing, or running
- ✔ Looking to lose weight while building functional strength
- ✔ Completed clinical rehab and ready for more demanding training
- ✔ First-time exerciser wanting a safe, supervised start
How It Works
Our Strength & Conditioning Training Process
Huzefa assesses your current strength, movement quality, and goals before designing your program. Training uses a combination of bodyweight, free weights, and resistance equipment, progressing systematically toward your goals. Programs are designed around the Calgary sports seasons — building ski fitness in fall, running base in spring, hockey conditioning in summer. Every session is one-on-one.

Questions
Frequently Asked Questions
Is strength and conditioning training different from personal training?
Yes. Our strength and conditioning programs are designed by a certified kinesiologist around your injury history, movement assessment, and performance goals — not generic templates.
Can I start strength training if I have a previous injury?
Yes — with proper assessment and programming. Many patients with prior injuries achieve their best-ever strength levels when working with a kinesiologist who understands their history.
How many sessions per week?
Most clients train 2 to 3 times per week for strength development. Your kinesiologist will design a program that fits your schedule and recovery capacity.
Is strength and conditioning covered by extended health?
Kinesiology sessions are covered by most extended health plans. Call to confirm your specific plan’s kinesiology benefits.
