Overview
When You Need a Therapeutic Exercise Program
If you have been discharged from other care but are still not fully recovered, or if you have been exercising on your own and not seeing results, a therapeutic exercise program gives you a clear, supervised plan. It is also a core component of WCB active rehabilitation, post-surgical recovery, and return-to-work programming. General gym programs are not the same — therapeutic exercise is built around your specific injury and goals.
Signs You Should Come In
- ✔ Recovery has stalled and unsure what exercises are safe
- ✔ WCB or MVA rehab requiring a structured exercise component
- ✔ Post-surgical rehabilitation requiring graded exercise
- ✔ Exercise on your own is making symptoms worse
- ✔ Need a program that bridges clinical care and independent activity
How It Works
Our Therapeutic Exercise Program Process
We assess your current physical capacity, injury stage, and goals. Your program is built progressively — starting where you are, not where we want you to be. Exercises are supervised initially and transitioned to a home program as you gain confidence. Our physiotherapist and kinesiologist often collaborate on programs that span both clinical and conditioning needs.

Questions
Frequently Asked Questions
What is a therapeutic exercise program?
A therapeutic exercise program is a clinician-designed and supervised exercise plan targeting your specific injury, weakness, or movement problem. It is not a generic gym program.
Who designs the program?
Our physiotherapist designs the program based on your assessment. Our kinesiologist supervises and progresses it. Both are involved when your case needs integrated care.
Can I do it at home?
Your program will include a home exercise component. In-clinic supervised sessions are used for exercises that require guidance and progression — especially in early recovery.
Is it covered by extended health?
Yes. Physiotherapy and kinesiology sessions are covered by most extended health plans. We direct bill.
